Milestones in the Life of a Shih Tzu

After years of having no dog at home, my husband and I decided to adopt a shih-tzu. We found our precious little girl in beautiful Prince Edward County.
Mya came to me as a Christmas gift last November. She was born on September 28th. Her Mommy Susie gave birth to seven pups.
Picking her from a litter of 2 girls and 4 boys wasn’t difficult. We immediately fell in love with the little girl who had the markings of a baby calf.

Mya was handled with love from the first day that she was born. Our breeder was fantastic. What a wonderful woman. Each week she sent me pictures of Mya’s progress.

2 week old shih-tzu

3 week old shih-tzu

4 week old shih-tzu
She made shy with me when I came to visit at four weeks.

5 week old shih-tzu
Mya ventures out side for the first time. She was the bravest of the bunch.

6 week old shih-tzu
Mya, home at last.
I’ll never forget the day I picked Mya up from the breeder. I cried like a baby.

Merry Christmas Mommy
Over the last year Mya has provided me with so much love. She has been a great companion. Obsessed with my shih tzu dog, I dedicate this blog to her and her new buddy Maxi, who you will meet soon.
