Are your dog toys safe?

By Mya DesRochers

Mommy threw away some of my toys. I don’t understand why she keeps tossing some of them in the garbage. She told daddy that I keep chewing them all up and she wants to keep me safe.

Mommy has these tips for keeping your pet safe.

When buying your pet toys be very cautious of toys that can be easily torn apart.

Check your dog’s toys frequently. Get rid of toys that have seen better days.

Rope toys should be replaced when they have become frayed.

Do not give your dog rawhide. Rawhide chews can lodge in the throat and cause choking.

HealthyStuff.org lists what toxic chemicals can be found in pet beds, chew toys, stuffed toys, collars, leashes, tennis balls and more.

Keeping these safety tips in mind will help your dog stay healthy, happy and safe.
